香港有不少地方可以吃薄餅,除了連鎖薄餅店外,也有些吃pizza的小店。有些pizza店標榜正宗意大利薄餅,部份店舖獲得意大利機構的認證。為全球薄餅評分的意大利網站,其中有幾間香港薄餅店,在這個排行榜的亞太區上最好吃50間薄餅店之一。

中環SOHO吃薄餅晚巿套餐

今次背包豬和箱小狐,去了一間亞太區50間最好吃的薄餅店,在該2022年排行榜上,幾間薄餅店都是位於香港島,位處中環較多。背包豬選擇去這間薄餅店,另一個原因是餐廳同一集團的意粉店tiramisu甜品被讚賞很好吃,這間薄餅店是同一個配方,去這間可以一次過吃到薄餅和甜品,滿足兩個願望。
中環the pizza project
這間薄餅店位於中環SOHO半山區,雖然不算便宜,別先入為主會很貴,其實與大型商場中平日吃個set dinner差不多價錢 ,視乎地點,可能較一些餐廳還要便宜。除了單點食物,晚上有一個tasting menu套餐,一個人只要$242,就可以在薄餅店吃到一個前菜,一個薄餅,一個甜品,而且份量與散叫一樣!如果午餐過來就再便宜一點。

餐廳很濃外國氣氛,除了菜單上有中文外,其他一切,由帶位,點餐,上菜,甚至是旁邊的食客,都是說英文,讓你完全以為自己是身處外地。

背包豬和箱小狐坐在薄餅焗爐附近,所以較熱。留意水是要收費,一枝$45。我們點了兩個tasting menu,大約十分鐘開始上菜。前菜配有麵包,麵包吃下去與薄餅是同一種麵糰。
Burrata布袋芝士$110:
布袋芝士帶有牛奶香味,軟軟的,鹹味不重,較淡口,下方有醃製過,略帶很少許酸味,類似夏南瓜的蔬菜薄片,整體是個清新的前菜。
Ham and Melon火腿蜜瓜 $110:
菜單註明火腿來自18個月大的豬隻,parma ham 稍鹹,但沒有油脂味臭味,哈蜜瓜甜。

這個是餐廳招牌菜式,煙肉上配上鵪鶉蛋,剛出爐的煙肉焗得很香口,但十分多油... 煙肉有煙燻味,就算兩個人吃也容易吃膩,人多一點吃較好。
NDUJA意大利辣肉腸薄餅$140:
辣肉腸挺辣,與卡邦尼同樣是茄汁底,配上辣肉腸,就是不一樣的風味
Tiramisu 提拉米蘇$65:
被網民說成是香港其中一間最好吃的Tiramisu,第一口吃下去是表面上的朱古力粉和砂糖,砂糖提供了不一樣的口感,提拉米蘇的芝士忌廉部份確實是很幼滑,只是芝士味不濃,下方是泡了咖啡的海棉蛋糕,整體好吃,但背包豬覺得未至於是「全香港最好吃」的程度。
White chocolate mousse白背包豬古力慕絲$65:
除了上方的草莓果醬,淨下的就只有甜,很快就吃膩,與提拉米蘇相差很遠。

背包豬和箱小狐在happy friday晚上前去,7時多是直接進入,吃完8時多出來,門口有10-20人在輪候。也有食客選擇外賣,坐在門口石級上吃。

Restaurant Review

If you're looking for a great pizza place in Hong Kong, you have plenty of options. Besides the usual pizza chains, there are also some independent pizza joints. Some of them claim to make authentic Italian pizza, and some even have certifications from Italian authorities. There are also Italian websites that rank the best pizzas around the world. Several Hong Kong pizza places made it to the top 50 in the Asia-Pacific region in this ranking. We decided to try one of them.

We picked one of the top 50 pizza places in the Asia-Pacific region for our visit. In the 2022 ranking, there were several pizza places on Hong Kong Island, mostly in Central. We chose this one because it was part of the same group as a pasta place that had amazing tiramisu desserts. This pizza place used the same recipe, so we could have both pizza and dessert in one go. How awesome is that?

This pizza place is located in the Mid-Levels area of SOHO, Central. It's not cheap, but don't think it's too pricey either. It's actually about the same as a weekday set dinner in a big mall. Depending on where you go, it might even be cheaper than some places. They also have a tasting menu for dinner, which is a great deal. For only $242 per person, you get an appetizer, a pizza, and a dessert at this place, and the portions are not small at all! It's even cheaper if you come for lunch.

The place has a very foreign vibe. Everything is in English, from seating you, taking your order, serving your food, and even the people next to you. It feels like you're somewhere else.

We sat near the pizza oven, so it was quite warm. Be aware that they charge for water, $45 per bottle. We ordered two tasting menus and they brought out our food in about ten minutes. The appetizer came with bread, which was made from the same dough as the pizza.
We love cheese, so I had to try the burrata cheese appetizer. It was creamy and mild, with a hint of tanginess from the brine. It went well with the thin zucchini slices that added some crunch and freshness. It was a great way to start the meal.

Next, we had the ham and melon salad. The ham was from 18-month-old pigs, according to the menu, and it tasted amazing. It was slightly salty, but not too fatty, and it paired perfectly with the sweet and juicy cantaloupe. It was a simple but satisfying dish.

For the main course, we ordered the carbonara pizza, which was their signature dish. It had bacon and quail eggs on top, which sounded interesting. The bacon was crispy and smoky, but it was also very greasy... I liked the first few bites, but then I started to feel full and bored of it. I think it would be better to share this pizza with more people, or to order something else.

My friend had the NDUJA pepperoni pizza, which was very spicy. It had the same tomato sauce as the carbonara pizza, but it had a different flavor because of the pepperoni. He liked it a lot, but I thought it was too hot for me.
For dessert, we shared the tiramisu and the white chocolate mousse. The tiramisu was supposed to be one of the best in Hong Kong, according to some online reviews. It had a layer of chocolate powder and sugar on top, which gave it a nice contrast. The cheese cream part was smooth and delicious, but not very cheesy. The bottom layer was a sponge cake soaked in coffee. It was a good tiramisu, but I wouldn't say it was the best in Hong Kong.

The white chocolate mousse was disappointing. It had some strawberry jam on top, which was the only thing that gave it some flavor. The rest was just sweet and bland. I got sick of it after a few spoonfuls. It was nothing compared to the tiramisu.

We finished our meal around 8 pm. There were a lot of people waiting outside for a table. Some people also chose to take away their food and eat on the stone steps outside.
