Autumn Beauty of Konkai Komyoji Temple
Konkai Komyoji Temple (Konkai Kōmyō-ji Temple), also known as Kurodani, is a major Jodo sect temple in Kyoto. It started in 1175 when the monk Honen set up a hermitage here after leaving Mt. Hiei.Locals affectionately call it "Kurodani-san."

The temple has faced several fires but has been rebuilt each time. Today, it features impressive structures like the main hall and a three-story pagoda. It also played a role in the history of the Shinsengumi during the late Edo period. When you visit, soak in its rich history and stunning architecture!
Besides autumn leaves, there is a lotus pond near the main hall.
The sun is shining brightly. The autumn leaves are turning as red as fire.
The expansive grounds invite leisurely strolls, and while there’s an admission fee to enter the main hall, we could still enjoy stunning views without it.
The temple, rich in history, features a magnificent gate and a serene garden. It was a delightful experience amidst nature's colorful display!
📍 Opening Hours: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
📍 Admission: Free, with a fee for the main hall
📍 Autumn Leaves Status: Maple leaves are at their peak but starting to fade and fall, while ginkgo leaves are at their peak.
